Holiday socks and earrings

Since December has arrived the santa, snowman and christmas tree socks have been dug out of the bottom of the drawer, along with all the christmas earrings (I hope you 3 girls are wearing yours too!) Why do "holiday socks" always bring a smile to someone's face then they notice you are wearing them? I think everyone needs to have a pair or two :) Winter is settling in here for it was 19 degrees this morning..brrrr, but have not seen any snow flurries as of yet. Eli says he wants snow when he's in Indiana so we're hoping there is just enought to satisfy the kids and allow them to enjoy a few slides down the hill behind the house at the farm-so brings your warm clothes everyone! Dad and I are counting the days until all 3 of our girls and their families are under our roof once again...what a joy that is for us. We're anticipating lots of noise, laughter, happiness, crying babies, some pouting moments, dirty dishes, losing your seat in the recliner when you get up b/c someone else snatched it and of course, we will probably once again be in awe of the musical ability of certain son-in-law's with the ever popular Rock Band (who can forget last year, and yes, Kelly is bringing the Wii!) As for now we're unpacking Christmas decorations and packing boxes of rarely used items - the dining room is a mess to say the least! The farrowing house is on this weekend schedule to be cleaned, disinfected and stalls set up for sows will need to be put in soon-aren't two of you sorry you live too far away to come help! (sorry Kelly & Eric!!) We enjoyed a Purdue men's basketball game last Saturday with Kelly, Kaylynn & Garrett and everyone got a bit of shopping in too - sorry kids that you had to go to Menard's w/Papa! We have a couple Christmas parties on the calendar this next week which is always fun then it will be time to get down to some serious Christmas stuff for sure! Enjoy this Christmas season everyone :)

Just the title of this post made me laugh out loud! Mother, I will never hear the words 'Christmas socks' and not think of you!

We can't wait to get there and I am sure there will be room in our suitcases for our special socks!
