A Busy Week

Where did January go? We skipped out early Monday and made it to Kokomo in time to watch a much improved St.Paul Girls BB team play and celebrated dad's b-day a day early with the Schers and some fabulous food. My plan for sitting down to a nice b-day dinner on Tuesday became a late dinner infront of the tv watching the Purdue men play (not all bad!) as Dad was at the State House in Indy all day and weather was not good in driving home, but he made it and the Boilers won! I made it to sorority Wed.night but for some reasons can't bring myself to sign up to work on much of anything coming up in the next 5 months! We skipped out early again Friday and headed to Marion to pick up Kaylynn & Garrett from school. We all enjoyed the annual St. Paul School Carnival Friday night and we both bought tickets to throw a pie at Garrett when he took his turn in the "Pie in the Face" booth! He won this honor by collecting the most penny votes in his "can" at school with all the money going to a charity the school kids had selected. He was a popular person for his 15 minutes and took it all in the spirit intended:) Saturday we got to watch both of them play basketball with Garrett's game ending in a tie after an over-time period and Kaylynn's team playing some awesome ball but coming up short of winning. After some fun shopping in Kokomo we all ate mexican and headed for home on drifting roads the entire way. Today was our "Souper Bowl of Caring" at church and lots of food was brought in - I had seen this program on UMCOR site through our church and brought it to the attention of the Missions committe so we gave it a try this year:) We ejoyed watching the Purdue women win another one in Mackey and the 1999 National Championship team was honored during the game. Super Bowl is winding down - I'm rooting for the Cardinals but there penalties have stalled them most of the game - maybe they will pull out a win in this last 3 minutes. Looking forward to the week whizzing by so I can board that plane come Saturday morning and be in Oklahoma. Hope you all have a great week too.....
